On the 22nd-26th of July, the Sandugo 2009 Trade Fair was held at the Island City Mall with the theme “MSMEs Positioning for the Global Rebound.”
One of the highlights of the fair was the One-Town-One-Product or OTOP as popularly known. During the fair, towns displayed their famous products. The OTOP was divided into different booths : the Handcrafted Section displaying mostly accessories, bags, placemats, baskets, wallets, chandeliers, pillowcases, boxes and shoes made up of different indigenous materials; the Woven Products Section displaying products woven from their organization’s specialty raw material; the Food/Agriculture Section displaying native food products and delicacies, and organically grown products like fruits, vegetables, rice; and the Tourism Section where booths displayed the products and tourist attractions of the organization’s destination.
The only one in the IT section - Auza.net displayed information of their current products and services : dedicated Internet access service for call center operations; develop and maintain free information web sites; web hosting services; VOIP; wifi through rspot; provide IT consulting services; and provide training on Linux and other open source software.
The fair is held at the Car Park Area, inside a cube-like air-conditioned tent. Other remaining booths were placed near the ICM Activity Center.
Today is the last day of the Sandugo Fair, so make sure to pay a visit.
