Engr. Jess Tirol is the main man who had made possible the historical correction on the right date and place of the Bohol Blood Compact to March 25, 1565 at Hinawanan Bay in the shores of Loay, Bohol. Above photo shows him signing the “ Creed of Peace of the Treaty that started friendship ” to propagate the Essence of the ritual of friendship between Datu Sikatuna and Gen. Miguel Lopez de Legazpi. The background picture is the Coca-Cola sponsored “ longest table event” to interpret the “bonding” where more than 150 tables of 6,000 people ate together at the same time. The March 25, 2008 event was an attempt for a Guiness World record by the Jetabout Concept & Event Management group with the documented event record in the hands of Kag. Hermes Entero, Chairman on Tourism of the Municipality of Loay
The 2005 NHI resolution (Chairman Ambeth Ocampo) was duly signed by then Mayor Leonides Tiongco, VM Bong Bullecer, SB Sec. Jenar Valloso, and Arts Director Mr. Prudencio Sirilan of Foundation University & Silliman University ( Loay SB Res. 081506 & MOA- 0915 , 2006 ). It conceptualized the event under the motto, “One World One People One Blood” which was recognized in 2008 by the Dept. of Tourism ( DOT Sec. Ace Durano ) who gave both moral & financial support to the event.
The event was made thru the Concepts & Events Management group headed by Mr. John Galia Enerio, Chairman of the 1565 Treaty - The Bohol Blood Compact .
Now born is the UNIFIED BOHOL BLOOD COMPACT - the Loay NHI site as the Historical & actual site. The Bool site now stands as the Commemorative place of the now popular tourist attraction - the Datu Sikatuna / Gen. Legazpi ritual in a steel sculptured work of National Artist & Boholano Napoleon Abueva. It also signifies the SANDUGO as the Festive & Street dancing celebration of the “1st International treaty of friendship in the world ” and is now the Center of the TBTK grand reunion on July 2009.
