RSS — Get Fresh Content Everytime!

June 10th, 2007 by techsier

Wouldn’t it be nice if you can open your computer and all the latest news on topics you are interested in are shown in one nice page? I’ve heard about RSS (or Really Simple Syndication) a few years earlier before I actually used them in one of my experimental websites (I’ll announce it here when the website is ready). The nice thing about RSS is that it is fairly easy to use. In fact, the newer versions of Firefox automatically formats RSS output quite nicely. Try this: Google News RSS. If you see only plain text with a lot of HTML-like tags, you are looking at the XML output of the RSS from the source website. Otherwise, you should see a standard format that Firefox displays if it is opening an RSS feed.

I’m currently collecting RSS links that I can use to build up my experimental website. It should be interesting to see what response the users will have about it. Hopefully I’ll get positive response though. :D
